EACVI 2026, Milan, from 3 to 5 December

Share your research and advance cardiovascular imaging

Present your abstract at EACVI 2026 and contribute to the advancement of your imaging modality — echocardiography, CMR, nuclear cardiology or CT. It gives you the opportunity to exchange ideas, gain expert recognition and help shape the future of cardiovascular imaging.
 
Accepted contributions are published in the European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging online supplement and featured on ESC 365, extending the impact of your work long after the congress.
 
Researchers aged under 40 can enter the Young Investigators Award competitions, where the highest‑graded abstracts are selected for dedicated sessions. Finalists receive free registration for EACVI 2026, and each session winner is awarded €1,000 and an award certificate.
 
Congress educational grants - EACVI offers free registrations for selected abstract presenters with limited access to fundings. Eligibility and applications open in July 2026.

Abstracts results are now available

The EACVI Scientific Programme Committee would like to thank all the contributors who submitted their original research to EACVI 2026.

The EACVI Congress Programme Committee would like to acknowledge the members of the Abstract Reviewing Committee for their essential contribution to the abstract programme.

All abstract submitters have been notified by email about the status of their abstract(s) and can view the results in their My ESC account.

 

How to confirm your abstract presentation

Step 1 - The submitter must sign in to her/his My ESC account with the email and password used at the time of submission to consult the abstract presentation day, time and format.

Step 2 -The submitter must select and confirm the presenter from the list of authors.

Step 3 - The presenter selected in STEP 2 will receive instructions on how to confirm the presentation and submit the related agreement form.

This confirmation should be done as soon as possible to ensure the abstract information is accurate in the scientific programme.

Step 4 - The presenter must register to the congress - you benefit from the early fee until 30 September 2026.

Step 5 - The presenter can start preparing her/his presentation by consulting the Presenter Guidelines.

Not only will your science feature at the congress, but it will also be published in the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging - abstract supplement (January 2027).

Important dates

Early July 2026 - Abstract results announcement online.   A notification email has been sent to each submitter.

30 September 2026 - Early fee registration deadline. All abstract presenters must register for the congress. Take advantage of the early fee.

Mid July - Opening of the upload platform. A notification will be sent to each presenter.

5 November 2026 - Deadline for presenters to register and upload presentations. Failure to upload and register to the congress by this deadline will lead to the withdrawal of the abstract from the scientific programme and all related publications.

Presentation formats

All presenters are required to present their research in person during the congress in Milan, Italy.

Selected abstracts have been assigned to different presentation formats:

Young Investigators Award (YIA) Sessions (Agora)

Two YIA sessions will be held on-site, chaired by senior faculty members: one dedicated to Clinical Cardiology and the other to Basic Science.

These sessions will feature the 4 top-rated abstracts in the category. Each finalist will present their research and will be challenged with questions by the jury members.

The jury members will be scoring on the following criteria: Originality, Scientific Content, Presentation and Answers to Questions.

Each finalist will receive a free registration to the congress, an Award certificate and a prize - €1,000 for the winners and €250 for the runners-up.

Advances in Science sessions (Agora)

Each session will feature the latest original findings in science on the topic in combination with an introductory state-of-the-art lecture given by an expert.

Oral Abstract Sessions (Agora)

The highest graded abstracts will be presented onsite during 'Oral Abstract sessions' moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated ePosters Sessions (Stations 1 and 2, Research Gateway)

The highest graded ePosters will be presented onsite during 'Moderated ePoster' sessions moderated by senior faculty members.

Paper Posters (Research Gateway)

Abstracts selected as 'Posters' will be displayed in a dedicated area onsite.
