Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy and cardiovascular outcomes in US Medicare beneficiaries
European Heart Journal
CAR-T cell therapies have transformed the treatment landscape of relapsed haematologic malignancies, yet cardiovascular safety in older populations remains insufficiently characterised.
In this large Medicare-based cohort, major adverse cardiovascular events occurred in 5.8% of patients and were most frequently driven by acute heart failure and stroke. Pre-existing cardiovascular disease, particularly cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, and cerebrovascular disease, significantly increased risk.
