Please refer to your agreement form to see the session type and format in which your abstract/clinical case has been accepted. It also specifies the duration of your presentation, and the maximum number of slides allowed.
Your presentation should remain short and should focus on the key results of your research/clinical case.

All presentations must be uploaded in advance online by the deadline indicated on your agreement form.
All presenters must register for the congress.
Failure to upload and register by the set deadlines will lead to the withdrawal of the abstract/clinical case from the Congress Programme and publications (Research Gateway, abstract book supplement, ESC 365).

Declaration of interest is mandatory but must not be inserted when preparing your slides/ePoster. The information declared at the time of the submission on your agreement form will be automatically inserted on your slides/ePoster.
My abstract is accepted in an Awards session (Research Gateway)
These sessions bring together the four highest‑rated abstracts in each category; all finalists will compete for an ESC Award.
Presentation format and requirements: each finalist will have 10 minutes to present their research, followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers from jury members.
You need to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation with a maximum of 13 slides (including the title slide). Specific information and instructions will be sent by email to the presenters.
The upload deadline is Thursday 13 August.
Evaluation criteria: the jury members will score presentations on: Originality, Scientific Content, Presentation and Answers to Questions.
The results of the competition will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on Sunday 30 August at 16:15 in the lecture room Reykjavik.

Presenters will have 12 minutes to present their research, followed by 6 minutes of questions and answers; these timings must be strictly respected.
You need to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation with a maximum of 15 slides (including the title slide).

My abstract is accepted in an Oral Abstract session (Research Gateway)
Presenters will have 6 minutes to present their research, followed by 4 minutes of questions and answers from the Chairpersons and the audience; these timings must be strictly respected.
You need to prepare a PowerPoint Presentation with a maximum of 8 slides (including the title slide).
The upload deadline is Thursday 13 August.
My abstract is accepted in a Moderated ePoster or ePoster Round session (Research Gateway)
Presenters will deliver a 3-min presentation summarising their ePoster, followed by 3 minutes of questions and answers from the Chairpersons and the audience; these timings must be strictly respected.
You need to prepare an ePoster (1 PDF page) and record a 3-min related commentary.
Technical requirements and recommendations to optimise the display of ePosters on the screen -
- Create your document in PowerPoint (1 page)
- Orientation : Landscape. Layout: 16 x 9
- Save it as a PDF file
Please note that the use of the official ESC logo is not allowed. This also applies to ESC Association, Working Group and Council logos.
Suggestion - Important fields to include in your PDF layout:
- Title, author(s), address (upper edge, across the width the whole poster)
- Purpose
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
The ESC does not allow QR codes on ePosters. The text should be broken by the inclusion of drawings and/or photos. The use of colour makes the ePoster more attractive and effective.

My clinical case is accepted in Clinical Case Corner 4 (Research Gateway)
Those highly interactive, practical and educational sessions will feature four clinical cases and will be broadcasted live from the congress for the online audience.
Each presenter will have 14 minutes to be structured as below; these timings must be strictly respected - (ONLY 1 PowerPoint) -
Part 1 = 6 minutes for clinical case presentation including description on how the guideline has been implemented: patient history/initial work up/diagnosis and management/follow-up
Part 2 = 4 minutes to be dedicated to the illustration of the learning points including 1 MCQ based on the related ESC Guidelines (1 slide with the question – 1 slide with the correct answer and rationale).
Part 3 = 4 minutes take home message slide to conclude the presentation – during this last part, presenters must be ready to take questions from the audience moderated by the Chairpersons.
Maximum number of slides = 15 including the title slide.
