Purpose of the Committee

The ESC intends to reinforce its commitment to providing gender-unbiased education, training, research, advocacy, and equal access to all ESC activities. The ESC Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Committee leads ESC efforts to advance diversity, gender equity and inclusion within the ESC and across cardiovascular medicine and science. Through policy and strategy development, it aims to address systemic bias, institutional barriers and under-representation that limit fair access to opportunities, leadership and participation, and foster an inclusive governance culture that values every voice and reflects the diversity of the wider cardiovascular community. The Committee also promotes the integration of sex, gender and diversity considerations in research, education, clinical practice and scientific communication.
