Purpose of the Committee
The Global Affairs Committee’s function is to strengthen ESC’s global positioning by providing strategic oversight, coordination and continuity for ESC’s international engagement with cardiac societies and regional networks. It helps define regional priorities and support coordinated engagement plans for Asia, Latin America, Africa and other priority regions, while advising on joint scientific sessions, leadership meetings, partnerships, day tracks and other international activities aligned with ESC strategy. The Committee will also enhance governance, reporting and visibility of global affairs activities at Board level, ensuring that institutional knowledge, regional expertise and key relationships are maintained and followed up consistently across mandates.
