Basic scientists whose abstracts are accepted for ESC Congress are welcome to apply for a travel grant from the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.
Basic Science Travel Grants to ESC Congress 2017 will open in May 2017.

All basic science and all "bench" abstracts accepted are eligible; applicants should be under 36 at the time of presentation.
The Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science of the ESC wishes to encourage in particular submissions from basic scientists. Supported by the ESC Board, several measures have been implemented to enhance and improve basic science at the annual congress. Specific sessions in cardiovascular research are aimed at basic scientists. Presenters of translational as well as fundamental experimental work, labelled as ‘bench’ research, in particular young scientists, will receive the following financial support:
The selection of awardees will be made on the basis of the quality of the submitted abstract as scored by an international review panel. Preference will be given to persons who have never received this travel grant.
After receiving confirmation of acceptance of your abstract for the ESC Congress, you are welcome to apply for a travel grant from the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.
