Frontiers in CardioVascular Biomedicine (FCVB) 2026 - 17 to 19 April - Leuven, Belgium

Award Competitions

Aged under 40? Enter the Young Investigators Award (YIA) competition

Highest graded abstracts will compete in the Young Investigator Award session. 
All finalists will be offered a free registration for FCVB 2026. Winner of the YIA session will receive a prize of €500 along with an award certificate. Runner-up (2nd and 3rd position) will receive a prize of €250 along with an award certificate.

Best Moderated Poster 

In each Moderated Poster session, one Presenter will be selected as Best Moderated Poster.

Winners of the Moderated Poster competitions will receive as prize a free registration for FCVB Congress 2028 along with a certificate.

All winners will be announced at the Award Ceremony and Closing session, held on Sunday, 19 April at 12:50.

 

The call for abstracts is now open. Submission deadline has been extended to Friday, 5 December 2025, 12:00 (noon) CET. Don't wait until the last minute.

Mark your calendar with key dates

  • Thursday 25 September 2025 - Opening abstract submissions
  • Thursday 27 November 2025 – 12:00 noon CET - Abstract submission deadline
  • Friday 5 December 2025 – 12:00 noon CET - Abstract submission extended deadline
  • Mid of January 2026 - Abstract results announcement online. An email will also be sent to each submitter.

Presentation format

All presenters will be required to present their research onsite in Leuven.

Selected abstracts will be assigned to different presentation formats:

Young Investigator Award Session (YIA)

One YIA sessions will be held onsite chaired by senior faculty members.

Each finalist will present the key points of his/her research followed by a Questions & Answers period led by a panel of experts who will judge the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Free registration to FCVB 2026
    • Winner prize: €500 prize and a certificate
    • Runner ups (2nd and 3rd positions) prize: €250 and a certificate
  • Conditions:
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at FCVB 2026 in the Young Investigators Award Session
    • You must be the presenter of your abstract(s)
    • You must be under 40 years old
  • Selection process: the selection committee will review the final top scoring abstracts to appoint the finalists. The selected abstracts will be presented to a jury in a dedicated session including a questions and answers section

Abstracts not selected for a YIA session will be automatically considered for Oral Presentation, Moderated Poster presentations or Paper Poster display.

Oral Presentations

Abstracts selected for presentation in a Scientific Session will be presented orally during the last part of the session and will be moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated Posters

Abstracts selected for presentation in a Moderated Poster session will be presented orally in a dedicated area and will be moderated by senior faculty members.

In each Moderated Poster session, one Presenter will be selected as Best Moderated Poster.

Paper Posters

Abstracts selected as paper Posters will be displayed in a dedicated area onsite.
