The ESC is developing new Clinical Practice Guidelines for 2028 on Myocardial Revascularisation, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. The call for authors is now open – a chance to contribute to guidance that will influence practice globally. Apply by 16 February.

Type 1 short QT syndrome (SQT1) is a rare genetic channelopathy affecting (among others) the potassium channel KCNH2 and carries a high risk for lethal arrhythmias in otherwise often healthy individuals with currently limited treatment options.
Recommendations for EU-wide cardiometabolic health checks
A Task Force including the ESC and partners from renal, diabetes and obesity communities proposes an age specific EU blueprint for cardiometabolic health checks. The plan combines lifestyle review with blood pressure, lipids, glucose, kidney and obesity metrics, endorsing opportunistic and systematic checks from under 35 to 65+.
