Cardiac Rehabilitation
September 2026
About Cardiac Rehabilitation
One in three people will experience cardiac disease during their lifetime. Cardiac rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary, patient-centred, and medically supervised intervention designed to optimise a patient's physical, mental, and social functioning following a cardiac event or diagnosis of cardiac disease.
It has been shown to improve health outcomes such as functioning and quality of life in a wide range of patients with cardiac conditions, and to reduce hospitalisation, recurrent events and cardiovascular mortality in selected patient groups.
This month, FOCUS brings together curated resources to help you stay up to date with the 2026 ESC Guidelines on cardiac rehabilitation. Explore our selection, including two expert-led webinars, and deepen your understanding of best practice in this essential area of cardiovascular care.
