We are still savouring the wonderful afterglow of EuroACHD 2026 in Madrid—a meeting that truly captured the spirit, strength, and unity of the ACHD community.

Set in a fantastic venue and brought to life by the vibrant energy of Madrid, the meeting and pre-meeting delivered an outstanding scientific programme, gathering an exceptional faculty from across the globe. The congress was defined by excellent attendance and consistently high-quality presentations, reflecting both the depth and dynamism of our field.

A particular highlight was the remarkable and deeply inspiring keynote lecture by Prof Jolien Roos-Hesselink. Our heartfelt thanks go to all speakers for their passion, generosity, and commitment to advancing ACHD care.

This year’s meeting was marked by truly meaningful milestones. For the first time at EuroACHD, the patient perspective took centre stage, with a patient representative sharing the lived experience of congenital heart disease—an emotional and essential step towards more inclusive and patient-centred care. We were also honoured by the active engagement of ESC Board members, including Prof Filippo Crea, Prof Cecilia Linde, Dr Magdy Abdelhamid and Prof Susanna Price reinforcing our shared commitment to improving ACHD care worldwide.

We also extend our warmest congratulations to Dr Abdul Wahed Sidiqi, recipient of the Best Abstract Award, for his outstanding work “The Hidden Burden and Complex Determinants of Congenital Heart Disease in Afghanistan: An Integrated Analysis.” His contribution is a powerful reminder of the global impact and responsibility of our community.
EuroACHD 2026 leaves us energised, inspired, and deeply connected—an unforgettable experience that will resonate well beyond Madrid.

We wholeheartedly encourage the entire community to join us for the next chapter: EuroACHD 2027 in Gothenburg.
