Our Committees
Driving ESC activities
Each committee is led by a Chair who is a member of the ESC Board who reports on its committee's objectives and progress to the Board. All committees are bound by our governance – Statutes, Bylaws, policies and procedures – to maintain the ethical integrity of our collective work.
Data Science Committee
The Data Science Committee drives data science innovative approaches and strategies for high quality data collection and evidence generation. It aims to enhance synergies between ESC data-driven programmes, facilitating the use of real-world evidence and increasing data access for research.
Declaration of Interest Committee
The Declaration of Interests (DOI) Committee oversees the implementation of the DOI policy and processes, and formulates recommendations to the ESC Board to ensure that the DOI form and policy allow the ESC to manage conflicts of interest.
Digital Cardiology and Artificial Intelligence Committee
The Digital Cardiology and Artificial Intelligence Committee is dedicated to advancing innovative technologies that enhance physicians’ ability to prevent, diagnose, and manage heart disease. We are committed to ensuring the responsible onboarding of transformative technologies, such artificial intelligence, for the benefit of patients.
Advocacy Committee
The mission of the Advocacy Committee is to demonstrate the human story behind the statistics of cardiovascular disease as the number 1 cause of death, raise public awareness and build support of policy-makers.
Communications Committee
The purpose of this committee is to contribute to and accompany the ESC in the deployment of the global strategic vision and mission as stated in the ESC Strategic Plan. To do this, the committee monitors, guides, and advises on ESC communication matters, initiatives, and activities.
Congress Programme Committee
The ESC Congress Programme Committee works on the construction of the ESC Annual Congress Programme and reports to the ESC Board.
Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee
The Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee is the ESC governing body in charge of the ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines Programme and other applicable ESC documents.
Education and Professional Development Committee
The ESC Education and Professional Development Committee defines and implements the ESC education strategy and roadmap, as well as assists with the coordination of the educational activities of the ESC and its constituent bodies.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee focuses on promoting the value proposition and prestige of the ESC Membership Portfolio in support of community members across their careers.
Publications Committee
The ESC Publications Committee, comprising all journal Editors-in-Chief and a book representative, spearheads the curation and editing of scientific content across ESC’s academic journals and educational books in both print and online.
Regulatory Affairs Committee
The mission of the Regulatory Affairs Committee is to ensure that the needs of the cardiovascular community are reflected in major EU regulations. The Committee is active across a wide range of areas, such as pharmaceutical policy, medical devices, and health technology assessment.
Scientific Document Committee
The ESC Scientific Document Committee is the governing body that coordinates the development of official documents produced by the ESC, Associations, Councils, and Working Groups.
Young Cardiovascular Professionals Committee
The mission of this committee is to represent the voice of cardiovascular health professionals in their early career stage within the ESC. Members of this committee are represented across the ESC's activities and contribute to supporting our mission.
