Call for Abstracts

EACVI 2026, Milan, from 3 to 5 December

Share your research and advance cardiovascular imaging

Submit your abstract to EACVI 2026 and contribute to the advancement of your imaging modality — echocardiography, CMR, nuclear cardiology or CT. It gives you the opportunity to exchange ideas, gain expert recognition and help shape the future of cardiovascular imaging.
 
Accepted contributions are published in the European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging online supplement and featured on ESC 365, extending the impact of your work long after the congress.
 
Researchers aged under 40 can enter the Young Investigators Award competitions, where the highest‑graded abstracts are selected for dedicated sessions. Finalists receive free registration for EACVI 2026, and each session winner is awarded €1,000 and an award certificate.
 
Congress educational grants - EACVI offers free registrations for selected abstract presenters with limited access to fundings. Eligibility and applications open in July 2026.

  • Tuesday, 24 March 2026 - Opening abstract submissions
  • Thursday, 21 May 2026 – 12:00 (noon) CEST - Abstract submission deadline
  • Early July 2026 - Abstract results announcement online. An email will also be sent to each submitter

Presentation formats

All presenters will be required to present their research during the congress in Milan, Italy.

Selected abstracts have been assigned to different presentation formats:

Young Investigators Award Session (YIA)

Two YIA sessions will be held onsite, chaired by senior faculty members: one dedicated to Clinical Cardiology and the other to Basic Science.

Each finalist will present the key points of their research, followed by a Questions & Answers period led by a panel of experts who will evaluate the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Free registration to EACVI 2026 and an award certificate for all finalists
    • Prizes: first prize winner (€ 1,000) and three runners-up (€ 250)
  • Conditions:
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at EACVI 2026 in a Young Investigators Award Session
    • You must be the presenter of your abstract(s)
    • You must be under 40 years old
  • Selection process: the selection committee reviews the final top scoring abstracts to appoint the finalists. The selected abstracts will be presented to a jury in a dedicated session, which includes a Questions & Answers section

Oral presentation

The highest graded abstracts are presented onsite during 'Oral Abstract sessions' moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated ePosters

The highest graded ePosters are presented onsite during 'Moderated ePoster' sessions moderated by senior faculty members.

Paper Posters

Abstracts selected as 'Posters' will be displayed in a dedicated area onsite.
