Who We Are
Reducing the burden of stroke through collaboration
Stroke remains a leading cause of death and disability, with outcomes often worse than acute coronary syndromes, in response, the ESC established the Council on Stroke in 2016.
By connecting cardiovascular and neurological expertise, we aim to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention – reducing the burden of stroke across Europe.

Chair of the ESC Council on Stroke 2024-2026
