The ESC Heart Academy Alumni exemplify professional collaboration. Recent scholarly contributions underscore this ethos. Nathan Mewton (PCHF) led the publication of a significant study on HFrEF and ESC guidelines. Matteo Anselmino’s (DAS-CAM) research on radiation is under review, and Inga Ingimarsdóttir (PCHF) spearheads a study on COVID-19 related myocarditis, originating from our collaborative efforts. As we reflect on these accomplishments, our focus is set on the future in unwavering commitment to making international collaboration not just attainable but seamless. Our aspiration is to broaden the scope of participation and set up new collaborative work.
In the upcoming year, our focus is on inclusivity and expansion, with the aim of integrating more professionals into our dynamic network. Each addition is not just a numerical increment (yes! we are looking for new members) but a qualitative enhancement of our collective capacity to contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of cardiovascular medicine.
Therefore, the Alumni Task Force is currently looking for ex-officio members for the phase of October 2023 to July 2024. Express your interest by 30 October 2023, by sending an e-mail to the European Heart Academy.
As we reflect on the experiences at the ESC Congress 2023 in Amsterdam, the ESC Heart Academy Alumni cherish the memories of insightful discussions and camaraderie. Our small group meeting was a testament to our collective commitment to advancing cardiovascular medicine, which was echoed in the presentations delivered by our alumni across the congress.
One of the highlights of our gathering was the “Drinks in the Dam” social event, a delightful occasion that fostered both professional and personal connections amongst us. It was not just a time of learning but also an opportunity to strengthen our bonds, share insights, and celebrate our achievements.
We are proud that our contributions extended to ESC TV Stage, where we engaged in profound discussions on pertinent issues in health economics. For those who missed these, we invite you to catch up on the conversations via the ESC 365 account.
Looking ahead, the anticipation for the ESC Congress 2024 in London is palpable. We are excited about the prospect of reuniting, learning, and sharing. A social event is in the works to ensure that the tradition of camaraderie continues. Additionally, our esteemed LSE Alumni are orchestrating a separate event to coincide with the congress, promising a comprehensive and enriching experience. We are hopeful to see you all there, ready to forge ahead in our journey of enhancing cardiovascular care globally.
