Sophia Antipolis, France – 4 March 2026: The leading congress for specialists in acute cardiovascular care, ESC Acute CardioVascular Care 2026, will be held 20-21 March 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Organised by the Association for Acute CardioVascular Care (ACVC), a branch of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the congress brings together a global community of experts who manage patients with heart attacks, cardiac arrest, stroke, acute heart failure, shock, and other life-threatening cardiovascular conditions.
This year’s theme, “The Heart Team in Acute Cardiovascular Care,” celebrates the power of multidisciplinary collaboration.
“In acute cardiovascular care, no single specialist can manage the complexity of today’s emergencies alone. The Heart Team approach, bringing together cardiologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, nurses, paramedics, and imaging experts, is not just a concept; it’s a necessity. At ESC Acute CardioVascular Care 2026, we are showcasing how this collaborative model saves lives, improves outcomes, and defines the future of acute cardiac care,” says Dr. Hannah Schaubroeck, Congress Chair.
Over two intensive days, #ACVC2026 will provide a forum to share the latest scientific advances, innovative treatments, and best-practice protocols aimed at saving lives and improving outcomes for patients in acute cardiology. Bringing the theme of the congress alive, many sessions are co-designed with experts in emergency medicine, intensive care, cardiac surgery, imaging, and nursing to reinforce integrated care. Delegates will also hear frontline perspectives.
Journalists are welcome to attend the congress in Lisbon.
The ESC Press Office will highlight selected studies in official press releases. Accredited journalists will also receive early access to embargoed materials and can explore additional presentations post-event through ESC 365 Knowledge Hub.
