Events and Congresses

From major congresses to specialist meetings, each of our events is a platform for innovation, and inclusive collaboration.

Working as a journalist or reporter at a congress

The congresses offer several key areas accessible to journalists, including the Global Community (bringing together national cardiac societies), the Research Gateway (featuring innovative science and poster presentations), lecture rooms, and—depending on the event—the Press Area.

In all ESC events, access to the Exhibition Area, Satellite Sessions, and Tutorials is restricted to healthcare professionals only, in accordance with EU Directive 2001/83/EC (Articles 86–100), which prohibits the promotion of prescription-only medicines to non-healthcare professionals.

Journalists who are also qualified healthcare professionals may indicate their credentials during the registration process and must carry proof of qualification while attending the event.

Working at congresses as a press videographer or press photographer

As a videographer or photographer,  you can obtain your press badge onsite at the event when accompanying an accredited Media Representative.  Unfortunately, you cannot make an online accreditation or registration.

  • Once registered, you will receive a Press filming tag for your camera. Tags are available at the registration desk. Keep them attached at all times.
  • Filming and photography are not permitted inside the exhibition area, satellite sessions, tutorials and lecture rooms.
  • Participant images are protected by privacy laws, and we ask that you respect their rights throughout the event.

Please note:

  • Commercial use of any images or recordings taken during ESC events is strictly prohibited.

To support your coverage, the ESC Press Office will provide official recordings of the ESC Congress press conferences once the embargo has been lifted. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to welcoming you to our events!
