Ensuring the EU plan delivers meaningful impact
On 9 April 2025, Commissioner for Health Olivér Várhelyi welcomed a delegation from the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH) to discuss concrete avenues for cooperation on the upcoming EU Cardiovascular Health Plan.
The meeting brought together key voices from across the cardiovascular community:
Arlene Wilkie, representing patient associations; Andrea Rappagliosi, representing industry via MedTech Europe; and Prof. Thomas F. Lüscher, ESC President and clinical representative from the EACH Secretariat.
The discussion focused on building strong collaboration between patients, clinicians, and industry to ensure the EU plan delivers meaningful impact. Participants stressed the need for partnership and alignment to tackle the growing burden of cardiovascular disease and create a healthier future for all Europeans.
