Frontiers in CardioVascular Biomedicine 2026, Leuven (Belgium), 17–19 April

Make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of cardiovascular biology

Submit your abstract and gain recognition among global experts

By submitting your abstract, you position yourself as an active voice in your field, sharing your findings and engaging in discussions that matter.
 
This is your chance to connect with peers, key opinion leaders, and potential collaborators who can help shape the next steps in your research journey.
 
Your work will be published in Cardiovascular Research as part of the online supplement and will remain accessible on ESC 365, the cardiology knowledge hub, ensuring long-term visibility and impact.
 
FCVB 2026 also celebrates excellence through its award competitions. If you are under 40, you can enter the Young Investigators Award, where the highest graded abstracts will compete in a dedicated session.
Finalists will receive complimentary registration, and winners will be honored with prizes and certificates. Moderated Poster sessions will also recognize outstanding presentations, with winners announced during the Award Ceremony and Closing Session on Sunday, 19 April.

  • Mid January 2026 - Abstract results announcement online. An email will also be sent to each submitter.

Presentation format

All presenters will be required to present their research onsite in Leuven.

Selected abstracts will be assigned to different presentation formats:

Young Investigator Award Session (YIA) - Showcasing the next generation of leaders

We’re committed to supporting young professionals reach their full potential. If you are under the age of 40, the Young Investigator Award sessions are your chance to shine.

The highest-graded abstracts will be selected for presentation, giving finalists the opportunity to showcase their research with a presentation and a follow-up Q&A with a panel of experts.

During the dedicated session, each finalist will present the key points of their research, followed by a 'Questions and Answers' period led by a panel of experts who will judge the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Free registration to FCVB 2026
    • Winner prize: €500 prize and a certificate
    • Runner ups (second and third positions) prize: €250 and a certificate
  • Conditions:
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at FCVB 2026 in the Young Investigators Award Session
    • The presenter of the abstract must be under 40 years old at the time of the presentation.
  • Selection process: the selection committee will review the final top scoring abstracts to appoint the finalists. The selected abstracts will be presented to a jury in a dedicated session including a questions and answers section

Abstracts not selected for a YIA session will be automatically considered for Oral Presentation, Moderated Poster presentations or Paper Poster display.

Oral Presentations

Abstracts selected for presentation in a Scientific Session will be presented orally during the last part of the session and will be moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated Posters

Abstracts selected for presentation in a Moderated Poster session will be presented orally in a dedicated area and will be moderated by senior faculty members.In each Moderated Poster session, one presenter will be selected as Best Moderated Poster.

Paper Posters

Abstracts selected as paper Posters will be displayed in a dedicated area onsite.
