Important Dates
- 11 March 2026 - Deadline to submit your clinical case.
- Early May 2026 - Clinical Case results announcement. A notification email has been sent to each submitter
- 31 May 2026 – Early fee registration deadline – All case presenters must register to the congress
- 30 June 2026 - Deadline for the assigned presenters to confirm presentation(s) and submit the related agreement form(s)
- 3 August 2026 - Deadline for presenters to register and upload presentations. Failure to upload and register to the congress by this deadline will lead to the withdrawal of the clinical case from the scientific programme and all related publications.
Prepare your submission
Your clinical case must be clear, educational, practical and REAL.
The purpose of a clinical case presentation is to communicate diagnostic reasoning in the light of the current ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines providing a clear description of the patient's condition and further management options based on these guidelines.
Your clinical case must be educational and not necessarily rare or unusual.

Clinical Case Programme
The ESC Young Cardiovascular Professionals Committee will design a practical, educational and interactive programme. All clinical case sessions will be featured in one of the dedicated Clinical Case Corners.
Best Clinical Cases Awards Session
Presenters must be under 40 at the time of presentation to be eligible.
The four top-rated clinical cases will be selected to be in competition during this session.
Presenters will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Originality of the case
- Case Management
- Presentation (demonstrating learning points from the case)
- Answers to questions
Each finalist will receive an Award certificate and a prize: €1,500 for the winner and €800 for the runners-up and benefit from a free registration to the congress.
Presenters whose clinical case is selected for presentation in the Award session will receive specific instructions.
Cases with the European Heart Journal - Case Reports Editors session
Four cases amongst the top-rated ones will be selected by the Editorial Team of the EHJ-CR and will be offered the opportunity to be simultaneously published in the European Heart Journal – Case Reports, free of charge.
Clinical Case Sessions
Presenting your clinical case during ESC Congress 2026 will allow you to give your work worldwide long-term exposure and multinational connections with all subspecialty professionals.
Clinical cases will be presented in highly interactive and educational sessions, that will be moderated by two experts on the topic, who will facilitate interaction with the audience, prompt discussions, and challenge the presenters.
Clinical Case presentations will then be featured on ESC 365 - the cardiology knowledge hub
