Allianz MiCo Milano Congressi is easily accessible by public transport.

The main entrance for EACVI 2026 (Gate 3) is located directly in front of Portello metro station.

By metro: The most convenient way to reach the venue is via the M5 (purple) line and stop at Portello

From main railway stations

  • From Milano Centrale: take M2 or M3, then connect to M5 and stop at Portello

  • From Porta Garibaldi: take M5 directly and stop at Portello

  • From Cadorna: take M1 or M2, then connect to M5 and stop at Portello

From bus terminals (Lampugnano / San Donato)

  • Take the metro and connect to M5 (purple line) and stop at Portello

Arriving in the city

By train

Milano can be reached from the main Italian and European cities by the Trenitalia (Frecce and Intercity) and Italo high-speed trains. The Trenord train company serves the regional routes. Please consult the railway companies’ websites for timetables and online ticket purchases.

The main railway stations in Milano are:

  • Central Station FS - piazza Duca d'Aosta - a departure point for most of the trains to foreign destinations. Connected with the M2 and M3 underground lines. 
  • Porta Garibaldi FS station - piazza S. Freud - connected with the M2 and M5 underground lines.
  • Cadorna FN station - piazzale Cadorna - connected with the M1 and M2 underground lines.
  • Rogoredo FS station - Via Cassinis - connected with the M3 underground line.

By bus

Milano can be reached by bus from the rest of Italy and Europe thanks to numerous services that cover medium and long-distance routes.

The main terminals are:

  • Lampugnano
  • Via Giulio Natta 226 – connected with the M1 Lampugnano underground line. Located in the north of the city, near the San Siro district, the bus interchange consists of 20 arrival/departure bays and a ticket office with a waiting room and coffee bar. Other services are also available. Numerous bus companies use this terminus as a destination from the main Italian and foreign cities. 
  • San Donato
  • Via G. Impastato – connected with the M3 San Donato underground line. Located to the south of the city, it is the stopover and terminus for buses departing from, or arriving to, Milan on both national and international routes.

Tickets can be purchased online on the individual operators’ websites or at the bus station ticket offices.

By plane

Milano is served by three airports: Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio.   

  • Malpensa (MXP, 45 km from the city centre) can be reached from the centre of Milano with the Malpensa Express train from the Cadorna, Milano Centrale and Milano Porta Garibaldi stations. Various bus companies also serve the route.
  • Linate (LIN, 7 Km from the city centre) can be reached by the M4 underground line.
  • Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY, 50 km from the city centre) can be reached by bus shuttle services run by various companies.

By car

Milano is a main motorway interchange that connects the city to the rest of Italy and to Europe. It can be reached by car from five different motorways connected to each other by the Milanese ring road system.

  • A4 Turin - Trieste
  • A1 Milano - Naples
  • A7 Milano - Genoa
  • A8 Milano - Varese (Milano - Lakes)
  • A9 Lainate-Como

Toll payment: a ticket must be collected at the booth upon entry to the motorway, excluding Telepass holders who have dedicated lanes. Prior to exit the payment must be made in cash, by credit or debit card, or with a prepaid card.

Milano ring roads: the tangenziali form a sort of ring around the city and the hinterland that is about 180 km long. It is almost entirely free of charge, only some sections require a toll.
The tangenziali are:

  • A50 Tangenziale Ovest (west)
  • A51 Tangenziale Est (east)
  • A58 Tangenziale Est Esterna (external east)
  • A52 Tangenziale Nord (north)

From Monday to Friday, from 07:30 to 19:30, cars entering the centre of Milan are subject to an Area C payment charge.

Getting around the city

Public transportation

The metro, tram and bus network in Milano is operated by ATM - Azienda Trasporti Milanesi.
The city is served by five underground lines: M1 Red, M2 Green, M3 Yellow, M4 Blue and M5 Lilac. The numerous bus and tram lines offer a not-to-be-missed opportunity to view the city from a window seat.

Milano is served by five subway lines.

  • Red Line M1: Sesto F.S. - Rho Fiera Milano / Bisceglie
  • Green Line M2: Gessate / Cologno Nord - Assago Milanofiori Forum / P.za Abbiategrasso Chiesa Rossa
  • Yellow Line M3: Comasina - San Donato
  • Blue Line M4: Linate Airport - San Babila
  • Lilac Line M5: Bignami Parco Nord - San Siro Stadio

The system is supplemented by the Passante underground rail link which connects urban and suburban railway stations to the subway network.

Ticket types:
Single ticket, valid 90 minutes: €2.20 - 24-hour pass: € 7.60 - Ticket valid for 3 days from the date of validation: €15.50.

The ticket is valid until the end of the public transport service on the third day, i.e., at 03:45 AM (not at midnight).

10-ticket pass: it cannot be used by more than one person at a time €19.50

YesMilano City Pass is the official city pass. It includes three-day travel in the metro subway system and all of public transport (trams, buses, S trains).

The ticket can be used with no limitation on buses, trams, underground lines and on the urban tracks of the suburban trains (Passante Ferroviario); it must be validated at the beginning of the journey and at any transportation change.

All authorised sellers: bars, newspaper stands and tobacco shops (located inside the underground stations and overground) and automatic counters inside the underground stations.

Bike sharing

Bikes are an eco-friendly and practical means of travelling around the city. Milano offers approx. 144 km of cycle paths and lanes over a completely flat area for bicycle lovers; it is not mandatory for adults to wear a helmet.

BikeMi, the bike sharing of Milan Municipality, is a real means of public transport to be used for getting around the city, that integrates perfectly with the ATM network. BikeMi today has 325 stations distributed in the key points of the city and 5,430 bicycles.

How does it work?

  • Find a bike: use the app to look for the nearest bike station and find a bike available.Ride for up to two hours, enjoy the city and, at the end of your trip remember to release the bike correctly.  Get the app for bike sharing on IOS   - Get the app for bike sharing on Android
  • Return your bike at the nearest station to your destination
  • Insert the bike into a free slot and wait for it to be properly locked. The light from the coupling point shall become fixed green and the pins shall no longer be removable.
