FOCUS on Chronic Coronary Syndromes

October 2024

Table of contents
Chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) are the "bread and butter" of clinical cardiology. They are described as the range of clinical presentations or syndromes that arise due to structural and/or functional alterations related to chronic diseases of the coronary arteries and/or cardiac microcirculation. Chronic coronary diseases are frequently progressive and may destabilise at any moment with the development of an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Therefore, it's important to quickly diagnose and treat CCS. The newly released ESC CCS Guidelines provide the latest in diagnosing and treating these syndromes.
