In this first Newsletter of 2026, we want to wish all our friends and colleagues our best wishes for the New Year

CBFH meeting in Naples

Last November we enjoyed a very successful CBFH Biennial Meeting of the ESC Working Groups on Cellular Biology of the Heart and Myocardial Function. With over 160 abstract presenters we enjoyed 3 days filled with inspiring presentations, engaging abstract discussions, and fantastic networking opportunities. 

The meeting brought together an ideal blend of highly experienced faculty and outstanding early-career researchers. It covered state-of-the-art topics ranging from cellular senescence and ageing to immunomodulation, metabolic pathways, mechanotransduction, cardiac rhythm disorders, and novel insights into regenerative medicine and advanced therapies for cardiac diseases. We wrapped up on a high note with the Awards for Best Abstracts. A big congratulations to everyone selected for this session for their exceptional work, and a special recognition to the winner, Marta Rocha, and to the two runner-ups, Gaia Salina and Sára Jezsoviczky.
