The European Journal of Cardiology – Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy (EHJ-CVP) was launched in 2014 as the official publication of our Working Group. Profe. Stefan Agewall has been Editor-in-Chief of the journal since its first issue, but now after over a decade at the helm, is handing over to Prof. Bianca Rocca.
Prof. Agewall was instrumental in getting the journal off the ground. Using his powers of persuasion to attract papers from big names in the field early on, the journal achieved indexing in just two years and its impact factor has grown to reach a stable and respectable level of around 6, which may well increase further in the coming years. He has overseen not only the growth of the journal but also significant changes in its operation such as the move to fully open-access publication from 2025.
The work of Prof. Agewall and his team has firmly established the EHJ-CVP as a respected member of the ESC journal family. As a Working Group, we express our sincere thanks and wish him every success in future endeavours.
