ESC Patient Forum
Volunteer and make a difference
Step into a space where patient perspectives drive progress in heart health
Welcome to the ESC Patient Forum
Every day, the European Society of Cardiology works to improve heart health worldwide. But we know that real progress happens when patients are part of the conversation. Your experiences, your insights, your questions – they matter. They help us make guidelines clearer, resources more useful, and care more compassionate.
By joining the ESC Patient Forum, you become part of a community that collaborates with healthcare professionals, researchers, and policy-makers. Together, we advocate for better prevention, treatment, and support for everyone living with heart conditions.

- A seat at the table where decisions are made.
- Opportunities to share your perspective and influence ESC initiatives.
- Access to information and activities designed for patients.
The ESC Patient Forum is more than a community – it’s a movement. And it starts with you.

Testimonials
Jennifer Camaradou, UK – ESC Patient Forum member since February 2024
"Via the ESC Patient Forum, I have met many different patients and listening to their stories has better allowed me to integrate living with my illness. Although we all come from different countries with different health systems, disease conditions and problems, we all share a common purpose of improving care for others across the entire spectrum of CVD. Through sharing our patient experiences, I feel more supported and inspired to continue to push to make a difference (it's also fun!)"
Paul McGreavy, UK – ESC Patient Forum member since June 2018
"Since joining the ESC Patient Forum in 2018 I have spoken at various ESC meetings and contributed to several medical papers and research projects. I have worked with many inspiring people and, I hope, that we are helping to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease around the world."
Mariette Sobels, France – ESC Patient Forum member since November 2024
"For a long time, I felt frustrated because SCAD was considered rare and often overlooked. Being a member of the Patient Forum has given me a platform at the European level to help raise awareness and influence care for this condition directly and indirectly. It’s also incredibly encouraging to see that our voices are genuinely valued. That recognition feels deeply meaningful and heartwarming!"
There are many ways to get involved, and we’ll provide you with support and training every step of the way. Whatever your skills or availability, we have a role that’s right for you.
