The British Cardiovascular Society is a member of the European Society of Cardiology
The British Cardiovascular Society is a charitable organisation involved in education and the setting of clinical standards and research into heart and circulatory diseases. Its membership is principally made up of UK cardiologists but also includes cardiac surgeons, doctors and healthcare professionals.
The British Heart Foundation is a major national charity which plays a leading role in the fight against heart and circulatory disease and is the largest independent founder of heart research in the UK. The Foundation also plays an important role in funding education, both of the public and of health professionals, and in providing life-saving cardiac equipment and support for rehabilitation and patient care.

Journal
Heart is the official journal of the British Cardiovascular Society and has been published in English since 1939.
Published by BMJ, Heart is an international peer reviewed journal that keeps cardiologists up to date with advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, through 24 issues a year. Topics cover the breadth of cardiovascular disease with special emphasis on valve disease, congenital heart disease, and inherited cardiovascular conditions as well as coronary disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, imaging, epidemiology, global health, genomics and translational science.
Each issue contains original scientific articles with accompanying editorials, reviews of recent advances in clinical and translational cardiovascular science, an extensive EBAC-accredited continuing professional education section (Education in Heart), the Image Challenge series of image-based cases with multiple choice questions, and JournalScan summarizing important papers published in other journals.
