National Cardiac Societies

United to achieve better cardiovascular health outcomes, everywhere

We are connected to cardiac societies around the world because we know these relationships are vital to achieving our mission. ESC National Cardiac Societies are our principal constituent bodies and institutional members. In addition, our relationships with ESC Affiliated Cardiac Societies bring us in close contact with cardiovascular health organisations outside of Europe and the Mediterranean basin. This diversity is our strength.

National Cardiac Societies

Our principal constituent bodies and institutional members

We were founded in 1950 by a 14 European national cardiac societies - today we count 58 ESC National Cardiac Societies as official members. Together we represent the voice of cardiology across Europe and the Mediterannean basin, serving our community and ensuring our collective efforts support cardivascular health for all.

Affiliated Cardiac Societies

Allies in sharing scientific knowledge beyond Europe

We work with cardiac societies around the world to learn and share, presenting joint sessions at each other's meetings, collaborating on educational projects and increasing the reach of the latest science. The ESC and Affiliated Cardiac Societies leadership meet regularly and together, we are committed to reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease globally.
