The HFA election application process and voting are carried out in accordance with the ESC bylaws, which include the HFA rules of governance in Annex V.
Key Dates
- 9 July 2025: Voting rights eligibility deadline
- 9 January 2026: Call for candidates
- 9 February 2026: Deadline to submit applications
- 20 March 2026: Announcement of candidates
- 30 March 2026: Opening of the voting platform
- 20 April 2026: End of the first round of online voting
- 24 April 2026: Second round of online voting (if needed)
- 11 May 2026: Official announcement made at the HFA General Assembly (GA) at Heart Failure 2026 congress
Voting Rights
The minimum seniority for HFA Members to obtain voting rights is six months before the opening of the call for application. Only HFA members having settled their dues six months ahead of an election (9 July 2025) and still a member when the voting platform opens (30 March 2026), have voting rights.
