Advancing healthcare solutions in cardiology
Over the years, the European Society of Cardiology’s collaborations with life sciences and medtech partners have led to giant strides in advancing healthcare solutions in cardiology. We firmly believe that nurturing these relationships is essential to further advancing global standards in the field.
These partners bring a valuable perspective to cardiovascular health, which we strongly support and facilitate through the ESC’s Cardiovascular Round Table. This multi-stakeholder platform enables strategic discussion about the key issues surrounding the future of cardiovascular health.
Partnering with the life sciences and medtech sectors
A collective effort to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease
At the ESC we undertake a wide array activities, ranging from our globally renowned congresses and leading publications, to data science, research and advocacy. These activities are organised independently by the ESC, however many are made possible through collaborations and grants we receive from the healthcare industry. Some of our many collaborations include:
• Exhibiting latest technology and therapies at congresses
• Supporting educational content to ensure wider dissemination
• Sponsoring special events – like free CV health screening at congresses
• Contributing to strategic debates at ESC Cardiovascular Round Tables
• Enabling accreditation projects that support institutional excellence – like ICARe-HF
Any support given to our projects and activities by healthcare industry partners is clearly acknowledged on our website.
Collaborating with integrity
Whilst remaining an independent scientific society
With every collaboration, we remain true to our principles:
- Independence: Our scientific content is driven by robust evidence and independent peer review. It is never influenced by third parties
- Transparency: All our partnerships and any potential conflicts of interest are openly declared.
- Integrity: Every collaboration is designed to serve patients and the public first.
Just as we require volunteers who contribute to our activities to adhere to the relevant policies and codes of ethics, we also apply the Codes of the relevant trade bodies to the activities we conduct in partnership with our life sciences and medtech partners.

Ethics and Compliance
As a large and influential scientific society, trusted by clinicians, patients, policymakers and funders, what we recommend carries wide-reaching impact. We uphold the integrity of our work and the reliability of our content through robust ethics and compliance mechanisms, all designed to ensure the highest standards in everything we do.
Cardiovascular Round Table
a strategic forum for high-level dialogue between industry (pharmaceuticals, devices and equipment) and ESC leadership to identify and discuss key strategic issues for the future of cardiovascular health in Europe.
Funding transparency
The ESC is a not-for-profit medical society, meaning our revenues are reinvested to advance cardiovascular science, education and patient care. Our funding comes from a mix of revenue from across our activities (membership fees, congress and event revenues, scientific publishing, educational and accreditation initiatives), as well as private sector partners
