A Global Network
Connecting cardiology expertise
Cardiac Societies
Connecting cardiovascular knowledge worldwide
Our National Cardiac Societies from across Europe and the Mediterranean basin are the foundation of the ESC and our constitutional body members.
They exercise voting rights, participate in strategic decisions and actively contribute across our activities.
Extending our collaboration and network across the globe, we are also proud to work national partners around the world called our Affiliated Cardiac Societies, as well as large regional and multi-national cardiology societies we call our Global Partners and Sister Societies.
This community connects hundreds of thousands of cardiovascular health professionals and gives us a deep understanding of cardiovascular disease, from national grass roots through to regional and global trends.
Cardiovascular Care Centres
A unique data collection network
Over the last 20 years, the ESC has developed a global network of more than 4,500 cardiovascular care centres (hospitals and clinics) across more than 100 countries.
Together, they collect real-world patient data through our registry programmes. This data is instrumental to monitor and improve the quality of care across cardiovascular diseases, assess the adherence to ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines, and generate valuable evidence that drives advances in cardiovascular research.
Academic Institutions
Uniting expertise and amplifying impact
We are proud to work with dozens of leading academic institutions, including universities and research organisations around the world.
Collaborations reach across data science programmes, such as EuroHeart and the ESC-Oxford Burden of Disease project, and executive education programmes through the European Heart Academy that are designed to empower the next generation of cardiovascular specialists.
Research Consortia
Collaborating on EU funded research projects
We work closely with other academic institutions and organisations on many EU funded projects whose mission is to advance cardiovascular health.
These consortia bring together expertise to develop innovative approaches to cardiovascular health, addressing market access issues in a coordinated, patient-centred way. We play a pivotal role within these consortia to harmonise and analyse real-world cardiovascular data to generate robust evidence and support innovation.
