Plenary meeting "Guidelines implementation" part 2
Objectives of the CRT Meeting
The May and July CRT meetings aim to discuss implementation science in cardiovascular medicine and define a vision for the promotion and adoption of evidence-based practices by integrating various ESC activities into routine healthcare provision to improve patient outcomes.
The May meeting focused on the barriers that may limit the widespread adoption of the ESC Guidelines and delved into these challenges on the local, regional, and national levels. The group discussed how data collection and educational activities can help identify gaps in implementation and how healthcare systems, socio-economic factors as well as physicians and allied health professionals may impact the adherence to guideline-indicated treatments.
The July meeting discussed innovative mechanisms and quality of care improvement strategies aimed at addressing the ‘evidence-practice’ gap, with the ultimate goal of proposing a comprehensive implementation programme to improve patient care.
