This discussion will present an overview of the ESC Advocacy strategy and a breakdown of the key targets to deliver sustainable funding to develop cardiovascular research, infrastructure and healthcare professionals.
Programme
The programme will focus specifically on the two main priorities of this mandate:
To articulate cardiovascular health clearly within all policies at EU and national level
- Confirm the relevance of cardiovascular health for non-health related policies eg. equality, transport, employment
- Provide solid data and patient testimonies illustrating the far-reaching impact of CVD
- Secure a commitment from politicians and key stakeholders to deliver an EU cardiovascular health plan
To build a sustainable cardiopolicy network
- Develop a range of coordinated activities that span across ESC to national levels
- Deliver clear, coherent messaging specific for each country
- Build a cohesive team with the capability to influence and deliver impact
