Dear Members of the WG on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation,
The ESC Congress 2020: The Digital Experience is rapidly approaching!! This year for the very first time, forced by the difficult health situation caused by COVID19, we will not be able to meet old and welcome new members of our ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation in person. However, we encourage all of you to participate in the digital version of the congress and, especially, to attend the Young Investigator Award on Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation session that will take place on Sunday 30th August at 9:53 (Channel by Topics, see link on this webpage under “Recommended sessions at ESC Congress 2020 - Digital Experience”). We have identified several additional sessions in the area of interest of our Working Group under “Channel by Topics” and “On demand”. Four of them are also listed on this webpage under “Recommended sessions at ESC Congress 2020 - Digital Experience”.
We would like to remind all members once more about the possibility of using our webpage to suggest relevant publications in the field of our Working Group or to highlight a recent article in a commentary. We encourage you to send your proposals to Dr. Padro or to any other Working Group Nucleus Member. Every other month, one article will be selected and the proposer invited to write a commentary to be placed online together with the bi-monthly newsletter.
An excellent overview of our Working Group has been recently published as a Cardiopulse article in the European Heart Journal (doi:10.1093/eurheartj/ehaa386). Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about the Working Group history, its mission, aims, and activities!
The third call for Mobility Travel Grant (MTG) is currently planned to be launched within the next 2 months, but the exact timelines will depend on the mobility possibilities in the different countries across Europe due to COVID19. All details will be provided in our website, so please be sure to check our webpages regularly!
Finally, we want to thank and recognize here all members who have submitted their candidacy as Ordinary Nucleus Member for the period 2020-2022 and warmly congratulate Drs. Djordjevic-Dikic, Cenko and Fleming, our newly elected nucleus members. We also want to thank Ordinary Nucleus Members Drs. Manfrini, Trifunovic and Dorobantu as well as Ex-Officio Members Drs. Badimon, Koller, Milicic, and Vasiljevic, who are stepping down on 1 September, for their invaluable contributions to the Working Group’s cause over the past several years!
Best wishes,
Prof. Dirk J. Duncker, Chairperson
Dr. Teresa Padro, Secretary
