EAPCI Board 2020-2022 Elections

Elections for the new Board of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) will take place in February 2020.

 

The new Board will take office and serve your Association for the period May 2020 - May 2022 under the presidency of Prof. Dariusz Dudek FESC

 Eligibility criteria to apply

Candidates eligible for the EAPCI President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer must meet all the below criteria, which are defined in the EAPCI Constitution :

  • Candidates must be Fellows of the ESC (FESC) in good standing.
  • Only EAPCI members holding voting rights may stand for EAPCI Board positions
    A member is considered eligible for voting after three months of membership at the date of the opening of the elections (i.e. member before 31 October 2019) and has a mailing address in an ESC Member country.
  • There can be no re-election to the same position.
  • Candidates for the position of President-Elect must be currently serving or have served in the immediately preceding Board (Executive or as Committee Chair). The elected candidate will automatically become President two years later.
  • Candidates for the positions of Secretary and Treasurer must be currently serving or have served in any of the preceding Board (Executive or as Committee Chair or Co-Chair).
  • Candidates for EAPCI Executive Committee positions who have not been elected are not eligible to stand for elections for the four subsequent years.
  • Previous elected members of the Board can re-apply for a position on the Board four years after their initial term (except for Secretary and Treasurer which can apply for President-Elect).
  • The President may not stand again for any elected position within the Association.
  • The President should not hold an executive position concurrently as President in a National Cardiac Society or in the European Society of Cardiology concurrently  to  his/her  term within the EAPCI Board. Holding a position of President-Elect or Vice-President concurrently  to  the  term  of  EAPCI  President,  EAPCI  Treasurer  and  EAPCI Secretary is acceptable.

 How to apply

Candidates will need to apply online and provide the following:

  • The application form duly completed and signed
  • The Code of conduct and Statement forms duly completed and signed
  • A letter of endorsement of their own National Cardiac Society or Interventional Working Group
  • The Permission form duly completed and signed to allow access to the candidate's Declaration of Interest (DOI) and use of his/her photograph and CV

 

What happens next?

  • The applications will be reviewed between mid December and mid January by the EAPCI Nominating Committee which has the responsibility to propose a balanced list of candidates for all positions, ensuring a cross-section of members from different countries and with different interests.
