Professor Luigina Guasti is head of the “Unità Complessa Geriatria”, University Hospital- ASST-settelaghi, Varese, Italy.
Associate Professor in Internal Medicine, University of Insubria, Varese, Director of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Insubria, President of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery of the University of Insubria, Director of the Research Center on Dyslipidemia, University of Insubria.
Luigina Guasti has authored more than 170 peer reviewed publication, mainly in the field of cardiovascular disease, and actively participated in national and international meetings.
Clinical and research interests include cardiovascular prevention, cardiometabolic diseases, dyslipidemias and hypertension, special populations –elderly-, research on mechanisms involved in atherosclerosis.
Secretary
Dr Thomas Kumler consultant cardiologist, Ph.D., is director of the thrombosis clinic in Herlev-Gentofte University Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark.
His main interests include the thrombocardiology and non-invasive cardiology with special focus on echocardiography.
He is past-president of the Danish Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, as well as present vice-chairman of the nukleus of Thrombocardiology in the Danish Society of Cardiology.
His research activities includes publications in several areas of Cardiology and he is presently involved in national and international multicenter studies.
He has extensive teasching experience and is currently academic co-advisor for a Ph.D. dissertation in the field of cardio-oncology.
Treasurer
Dr Alexander Kharlamov is a practicing cardiologist who has 26 years of clinical experience in general cardiology (since 1996; a Consultant Physician since 2007; a Board-Certified Cardiologist since 2010), 21 years of translational research in nanomedicine and biomedical engineering (since 2001), and about 15 years of bench-to-bedside studies in interventional cardiology (a leader of the research group since 2007), including advanced cardiovascular imaging, atheroprotective strategies, vascular biology and pathology (natural and treated atherosclerosis), RTD of medical devices (bioresorbable scaffolds and stents) mainly in Russia, The Netherlands and Estonia.
He is an author of more than 60 articles and some grant proposals for the European Commission and has received some national and international awards for his research work.
Since 2019 he has been running a few projects in the Netherlands and Estonia, focusing on developing the software and CoreLab assistance in digital medicine and applications of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular imaging for needs of both noninvasive and invasive cardiology.
Communications Coordinator
Professor Konstantinos Toutouzas is Professor and Director of the cardio-oncology and structural valve disease outpatient clinic of First Department of Cardiology, Athens School of
Medicine. He is an interventional cardiologist, experienced in the whole spectrum of
interventional procedures, including coronary and structural heart disease interventions.
Konstantinos Toutouzas has more than 290 publications in peer-reviewed journals and more than 5,700 citations.
He is Chairperson of the Postgraduate Programme ‘Interventional Cardiology’ at the Athens School of Medicine.
Liaison Officer
Dr. Stefano Nistri, cardiologist, works in an outpatient unit, accredited by the Italian National Health System. He is Chief of the Cardiology Service of CMSR Veneto Medica in Altavilla Vicentina, Italy and Consultant Cardiologist in other outpatient facilities.
His main interests include the utilisation of echocardiography in the assessment of
valvular heart disease, on HCM, aortopathies, diastolic function, and in translational cardiology.
He served as Chairperson of the Working Group on Echocardiography of the Italian Society of Cardiology and, subsequently, of the Cluster on Cardiovascular Imaging of the same society.
Since 2017, Stefano Nistri is President of the Veneto Section of A.R.C.A. (Regional Association of Ambulatory Cardiologists) and member of the National Board of A.R.C.A.
