The call for abstracts is now open. Submission deadline is Thursday, 8 January 2026, 12:00 noon CET. Don't wait until the last minute.

  • Tuesday, 21 October 2025 - Opening abstract submissions
  • Thursday, 8 January 2026 – 12:00 noon CET - Abstract submission deadline
  • Mid of February 2026 - Abstract results announcement online. An email will also be sent to each submitter.

Presentation formats

All presenters will be required to present their research onsite in Barcelona.

Selected abstracts will be assigned to different presentation formats:

Young Investigator Award Session (YIA)

Two YIA sessions will be held onsite chaired by senior faculty members: one dedicated to Clinical Cardiology and another to Basic Science.  

Each finalist will present the key points of his/her research followed by a Questions & Answers period led by a panel of experts who will judge the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Free registration to Heart Failure 2026
    • Prizes: first prize winner (€ 1000) and two runners-up (€ 250)
  • Conditions:
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at Heart Failure 2026 in a Young Investigators Award Session
    • You must be the presenter of your abstract(s)
    • You must be under 40 years old
  • Selection process: the selection committee will review the final top scoring abstracts to appoint the finalists. The selected abstracts will be presented to a jury in a dedicated session including a questions and answers section.

Nursing and Allied Professions Investigator Award Session (NIA)  

This dedicated Nursing and Allied Professions Award session will be held onsite chaired by senior faculty members. Each finalist will present the key points of his/her research followed by a Questions & Answers period led by a panel of experts who will judge the presentations and determine the winners and runners-up.

  • Submit in this category to benefit from:
    • Free registration to Heart Failure 2026
    • Prizes: first prize winner (€ 1000) and two Runners-Up (€ 250)
  • Conditions:
    • You must be a registered nurse, dietician (and related professions) or in training
    • Your abstract(s) must be accepted at Heart Failure 2026 for the Nursing and Allied Professions Investigator Award Session
    • You must be the presenter of your abstract(s)
    • There is no age limit

Abstracts not selected for an Award session will be automatically considered for the Oral presentation, Moderated ePoster, or ePoster presentation.

Rapid Fire Oral Abstract sessions

The highest graded abstracts will be selected to be presented orally during the rapid-fire abstract sessions which will be held onsite moderated by senior faculty members.

Moderated ePosters

The highest graded ePosters will be selected to be presented orally during dedicated Moderated ePoster sessions which will be held onsite moderated by senior faculty members.

ePosters 

Accepted research will be published on the congress dedicated platform in an ePoster format. These ePosters will be consultable onsite via dedicated stations and online, on demand.

The dedicated platform will offer Interactivity features (such as Like, Share, Comment…) to engage with the presenters and facilitate scientific exchange on the presentation; it will allow continued discussions throughout the event.
