Don't wait until the last minute. The submission deadline is Thursday, 1 April 2021, 12:00 noon CET and there will be no extension.

Clinical Cases submitted through the Call for Abstracts will not be validated and automatically removed from the selection process. If you wish to submit a case - Please refer to the dedicated Call for Clinical Cases.

Important Dates

1 April 2021: Deadline to submit your abstract - There will be no extension.

Early June 2021: Abstract results announcement (an email will be sent to each submitter) - Opening of the upload platform

25 June 2021: Deadline to confirm presentation, presenter name and submit the related agreement forms

30 June 2021: Early fee registration deadline – All abstract presenters must register for the congress

30 July 2021: Deadline to upload presentations. Failure to upload by the deadline and register for the Congress will lead to the withdrawal of the abstract from the scientific programme and all related publications


ESC Congress Awards

Presenters whose abstract is selected for presentation in an Award session, will receive specific instructions. Results of the competition will be announced during the Awards Ceremony. Each finalist will receive an Award certificate and a prize - €2,000 for the winners and €1,000 for the runners-up - and benefit from a free registration to the congress.

Young Investigator Awards

Selected for the outstanding quality of their work, four young investigators will be competing in each session for a prestigious ESC Award presenting their original research in front of a Jury. The awards will be focused on Basic Science – Clinical Cardiology – Thrombosis – Populations Sciences – Coronary Pathophysiology and Microcirculation – Sudden Cardiac Death (Spotlight of the Congress).
