Dear Members,
Unfortunately, due to the COVID pandemic, for the second consecutive year, the highly successful HFA Winter Meeting on Translational Heart Failure Research, that our WG proudly co-organises, had an online-only format again in 2022.
The virtual Winter Meeting 2022 was, however, very successful! On 28 January, we had a special lecture specifically organised by our WG, focusing on the very actual topic of animal-free approaches in heart failure research, related to our recent position paper.
We congratulate the winner of the YIA, Alessio Alogna, from Berlin, and the four speakers who presented the best abstracts in the concluding session of the Winter Meeting (Drs. Rizzo and Sequeira from two different labs in Würzburg (DE),Dr. Santulli from Albert Einstein, New York (US), and Dr. Dontaine, from UC Louvain (BE).
Finally, on Feb 1 our WG organised an important online talk which has been recorded and is now accessible on-demand: "COVID-19 and myocarditis: reality or fiction?"
Our Nucleus will continue to be in touch through Zoom meetings and intend to organise other web symposia and write new position papers.
Stay safe!
On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,
Carlo Gabriele Tocchetti, Chairperson 2020-2022
