Editorial - June 2021

Dear members of the ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology,

It is with great pleasure that I send you an update on the activities of our working group (WG) along with a selection of recommended readings on various topics.

The first online congress, EHRA 2021 (23 to 25 April), proved to be an exceptional learning experience with more than 3000 attendees from 91 countries. Several presentations in the topic of e-Cardiology / Digital Health were included in the three-days programme.

The Computing in Cardiology (CinC) conference 2021 (September, 12-15) will be organized in hybrid format in Brno, Czech Republic. The new CinC 2021 web site is up. The WG e-Cardiology ESC – CinC: Clinical Needs Translational Award (CTA) will also happen again this year; this is a team-based award for submissions of strong translational impact.

We would like to inform you that the Digital Summit 2021 will be organized in hybrid format from 22 to 24 October. A high-quality educational programme with interactive workshops, technology and clinical research presentations as well as updates on the digital transformation and implementation in practice will be organized.

The second issue of the new European Heart Journal - Digital Health was published in March 2021. This issue included two seminal position papers as well as other important scientific reports. European Heart Journal - Digital Health is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal, with a specific focus on digital health in cardiovascular medicine, connecting physicians with biomedical engineers, researchers, and allied health professionals.
