Dear members of the ESC Working Group on e-Cardiology,
this year, the ESC congress attracted over 33500 participants. In particular, the digital health area was extremely well attended and it was good to see many of our members presenting scientific content at the Digital Health stages. The session videos and content are now available on ESC365, review our selection below. Next year, I’m sure that there will be even more space and attention on this area at the ESC congress in Amsterdam, where the spotlight theme will be ‘The Cutting Edge of Cardiology”.
Soon after, the annual Computing in Cardiology conference took place in Singapore. Many of our members presented and discussed their current research during this important event, and on behalf of our nucleus and entire membership, I’d like to congratulate the winning team of the Clinical Needs Translational award competition, which is co-sponsored by our Working Group: Flavio Palmieri, Pedro Gomis, José Esteban Ruiz, Beatriz Bergasa, Ferreira Dina, Alba Martin, Syed Hassaan Ahamed, Esther Pueyo, Juan Pablo Martínez, Julia Ramírez and Pablo Laguna.
While you receive this newsletter, we will be back from the first ESC Digital Summit, 5-6 October 2019 in Tallinn, Estonia. A unique chance to shape the future of digital cardiology, with roundtable discussions on artificial intelligence, wearables and mobile apps, in silico clinical trials, virtual reality, cyber security, and more.
Next, we focus our attention on EHRA 2020 and the e-Cardiology award session: submit your abstracts in this category for a change to win a free registration and a prize of 1000€! Deadline is 22 October 2019.
To have further updates of ongoing and future activities of our WG, review the annual update here.
Wishing you all the best on behalf of the entire WG Nucleus,
Assoc. Prof. Joost Lumens, Chairperson 2018-2020
