ESC Regulatory Affairs Committee

2024-2026

Purpose of the Committee

The ESC is dedicated to reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease by advancing cardiovascular science, supporting high-quality healthcare and promoting evidence-based decision making. To this end, the cardiology and cardiovascular science profession needs to interact, via policies and partners, with decision-makers in healthcare as well as the patients, in order to provide expert advice and support.

In this framework, the mission of the Regulatory Affairs Committee is to ensure that the needs of the cardiovascular community are reflected in major EU regulations. The Committee is active across a wide range of areas, such as pharmaceutical policy, medical devices, and health technology assessment. To achieve this goal, the Committee has established an effective channel of dialogue with EU institutions and represents the ESC in key stakeholder groups where crucial measures for the sector are defined.
