Tim Balthazar was dually trained as a cardiologist and intensivist at the University Hospital Leuven, where he remained active as a cardiologist and intensivist until 2021. He is currently working as a cardiac intensivist at the University Hospital Brussels, where he has been the lead in the cardiogenic shock team. His main interests are cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, ARDS and medical intensive care.
