The results
The finalists were Italy and Romania.
And the winner is the Romanian Adrenaline Team. Congratulations to:
- Dr. Alexandru-George Cotoban - Team Leader - Interventional Cardiologist
- Dr. Ana-Maria Buburuz - Cardiologist - Acute Cardiac Care & Heart Failure
- Dr. Mihai Bica - Cardiologist - Trainee / Junior Doctor, Electrophysiology
Participating in the ACVC E-Sim challenge was a great opportunity for me to practice managing life-threatening cardiac complications as part of a team in a safe and controlled environment. The experience itself (aside from a few connection problems) was superb. The avatars were great and organisation was on point. The experience definitely made me aware of the importance of teamwork and prompt measure in critical situations and it has definitely added to my training as a cardiologist :). Looking forward to more such events!
Dr. Mihai Bica
It has been a great competition. The simulation offered accurate life-like scenarios that were really immersive and intense. The platform is an excellent tool for testing and improving your decision making and team communication skills in acute cardiovascular care.
Dr. Alexandru-George Cotoban

When is it?
Saturday, 20 March (afternoon) and Sunday, 21 March (all day).
The estimated availability per team is three hours.
Coming soon: schedule for each team.
How does it work?
During the live event:
- A real simulation room with avatars, patient, and fully equipped for the scenario, is connected with the online team
- The online team (at home or from your hospital) connect from their computer to the website and send their orders through a smartphone to avatars.
- Through various clinical cases, the teams are confronted with a patient whom they must take charge of.
- Each team will compete in two different scenarios.
- The scenario takes place in a full-scale simulation for 10 minutes in a side-by-side model.
- Each treatment is evaluated by a health trainer (This grid contains non-technical skills and other technical skills.)
- The learners, by their actions, their attitudes, cumulate "points of life" for the manikin.
- At the end of the day, teams that have allowed the acquisition of maximum "points of life" to their patient-manikin will access the final scenario.
- All sessions are immediately followed by a debriefing.
- The two winners will face an ultimate scenario for the final
- All sessions will be also live for everyone.
About the team
- The team is composed of three members maximum.
- It must be a multidisciplinary team. (involving a nurse is a plus as well as someone familiar with cath lab settings).
- It’s recommended to have one experienced doctor and two juniors.
