Dear Members,
We hope this newsletter finds you all in good health. The festive season has arrived and we are all looking forward to celebrating it with friends and family. At the same time, many of you have had their holidays withdrawn due to increased pressure on healthcare as a result of surging COVID numbers. We wish all of you the very best and hope you will be able to find the time to take a step back and look at the past year with joy and satisfaction regardless (and read our newsletter of course)..
We are looking back at a good year despite the pressures. We have met online several times and were able to discuss future plans and are looking forward to seeing you either online or face-to-face soon. New meetings are being planned for face-to face meetings such as the Eurothrombosis & Eurovessels meeting to be held in Lisbon, Portugal 20-22 October 2022 as a joint effort between the ESC Working Groups on Thrombosis and on Aorta & Peripheral Vascular Diseases. Check out the website at etev2022.com and make a save-the-date for your agenda! We look very much forward to seeing you there.
This newsletter paper of the month, is commented on by our senior and Junior members Andrea Rubboli and Rui Azevedo Guerreiro on finding the sweet spot for NOAC and VKA use in the elderly and based on The ENVISAGE-TAVI AF trial.
Finally, we would like to draw your attention to the need to renew your membership of our working group. This will support our activities so do renew! It’s easy to do: sign into your My ESC account, go to ‘My Membership’ and select ‘Manage’.
On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,
Andrea Rubboli, Chaire-Eect, and Heleen van Beusekom, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022
