Dear Members,
This is my first letter as the 2020-2022 Chair of the Working Group. We thank Thomas Thum who is now Past-Chair and did a superb job during his 2018-2020 mandate. We also salute Nucleus Members who are stepping down and we welcome on board four new terrific cardiovascular scientists as Nucleus Members. The composition of the new Nucleus is on the website.
We are just entering Fall after a “strange” Summer, due to limited mobility. Nevertheless, I hope you had nice Summer break and got back to work safely. Unfortunately, along with the end of Summer, the COVID-19 curve is rising again, and we really hope we will not be impacted so heavily as for Winter and Spring 2020. We could not meet in person in Amsterdam at the ESC Congress 2020, but virtual events are now an established way of debate, and the The Digital Experience has been extremely successful. Our Working Group has also organised a very interesting Web-Symposium on Cardiomyopathies together with the HFA (programme attached), with great science being presented.
The Nucleus will be continuously in touch through Zoom meetings in order to organise other Web Symposia and write new position papers.
