Message from the Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Cellular Biology of the Heart

Dear Members,

I hope our working group members all enjoyed the ESC congress. From my own perspective, it was an incredible achievement, and the digital platform was exceptionally well constructed this year, making presentations simple to find and view. It is worth pointing out that registered participants are still able to catch up with symposia they might have missed, by viewing them “on demand” on the congress website. Nevertheless, despite my enjoyment of this year’s congress, I am already looking forward to attending in Barcelona next year, where, like many, I hope to finally be able to catch up with friends and colleagues in person. Another highlight for next year will be the Frontiers in CardioVascular Biomedicine (FCVB) meeting in Hungary (29th April to 1st May 2022). This cross-disciplinary platform for basic and translational cardiovascular biomedicine is, of course, highly relevant for members of this working group, and our nucleus has contributed a number of session proposals to the programme. I hope to see you there!

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Sean Davidson, Chairperson 2020-2022
