ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Surgery

Dear Members,

Most importantly, we want to draw your attention to the fact that ESC changed the Working group membership from LIFETIME to ANNUAL so you now need to REACTIVATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP. Once done, you can opt for the YEARLY AUTOMATIC RENEWAL which then keeps the subscription going for the future without any other effort. It takes TWO MINUTES to do that and can easily be done via your ESC account. Please do so NOW as if not, the MEMBERSHIP TERMINATES. The Working  Group has made fantastic progress over the years and this unique and precious joint platform for both cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons is THE basis for a bright future of bringing our specialities further together.

Let us take this also as an opportunity to motivate your colleagues to become part of our network by applying for membership!

The recommended readings in this newsletter are on the impact that different revascularisation strategies in coronary artery disease have, a network analysis on the degeneration of different surgical aortic valve prostheses and the question if mitral valve surgery is justified in patients undergoing aortic valve surgery for severe aortic stenosis with concomitant moderate to severe mitral valve insufficiency.

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Martin Czerny, Chairperson 2020-2022, Roman Gottardi, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022
