Dear Members,
During these difficult times, the WG on Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine has continued working on research, advocacy and educational programmes, with some understandable delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic across Europe. We would like to highlight the new WG Nucleus, and welcome Prof. Stefan Janssens as new Chairperson of the WG, together with four new voting Nucleus members: Jonathan Leor, Marie-Noelle Giraud, Antje Ebert and Joost Sluijter (2020-2022). A Nucleus virtual meeting has been scheduled for 30 September, in which future projects and next steps will be outlined. Finally, the whole world of cardiac regenerative and reparative medicine has been shocked and deeply regrets the very sad news of the passing away of Prof. Jim Willerson (17 September), an outstanding scientific, physician and mentor, and above all, a unique inspiring human being.
