ESC Working Group on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology

ESC Working Groups

Dear members,

Our Best Wishes for a great 2022.

After two years of online meetings, our priority is to make it possible for everyone to meet and network again in person, as this is and will always remain the essence of the EWGCCE meeting. We have therefore thrived to make this possible again this year.

We are pleased to announce that our next annual meeting, the 46th EWGCCE will take place on 4-6 June in the Palacio de Congresos de Toledo (El Greco), Spain, in the heart of the medieval “three cultures” town. The conference will start on 4 June (afternoon) until 6 June (noon). We have put together an exciting program which will be released following speakers agreement, and will be completed with your last research that you can submit as abstracts or titles. The scientific program is organized in 5 sessions, each composed of one invited lecture and 3 short presentations selected from the abstracts, in addition to 2 poster sessions, and the Carmeliet-Coraboeuf-Weidmann award lecture. The scientific program will provide the latest updates and will showcase the most promising research in our field. All of the sessions will provide unique opportunities for networking, debate and interaction with world-leading experts.

Stay tuned to submit your research and register to join us in Toledo.

The deadline for our Scientific Exchange Grants is now closed, and we are happy to say we received a good number of applications, which will be reviewed by a panel of external referees. The success of this call is a sign that our community is eager to work together, and start collaborations among different laboratories.

Also, please remember – unless you have done it already – that you now need to renew your free WG membership to keep your member benefits. You will have received reminders, if you forgot.

Finally, do not forget to check the Recommended Reading section. This month, we selected quite a few papers that will be of interests for our members.

We also recommend you to listen to this very nice interview with Prof. Ursula Raven on Cardiovascular Research, where she discusses her research activity and shares what she believes will be the next breakthrough in the field.

We really hope we will be able to see each other in person this year at our WG meeting in Toledo, Spain, and maybe also at some of the other meetings of the ESC family, like the EHRA, FCVB, and the ESC Congress.

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Ana M Gómez, Chairperson 2020-2022
Elisa Passini, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022
