ESC Working Group on Aorta & Peripheral Vascular Diseases

Dear Members,

Did you ever ask yourself who else is a member our Working Group? We have!

Let us introduce the ESC Working Group on Aorta and Peripheral Vascular Disease:

We currently have 603 members (25% female). Most of us are practicing (77%) and are older than 40 (69%). A few are in training (9%) or retired (2%). While we are practicing in 21 countries worldwide, Italy (17%), Spain (13%), France (10%) and Germany (8%) make up the top 4 in absolute numbers. We comprise a multi-disciplinary group with a wide range of backgrounds, with most of us being physicians, often clinical and interventional cardiologists and angiologists, but also vascular and cardio-thoracic surgeons, radiologists, nurses, basic scientists, engineers, physiotherapists, industrial scientists, administrators and much more.

Because we, the Working Group nucleus, are here to represent you, we want to understand better who you are and what you do to better address your needs. In this spirit, we aim to engage you more and increase the activities of the Working group.  Stay tuned!

On behalf of the Working Group nucleus,

Prof. Christian Heiss, Communication Coordinator 2020-2022

(Communications team: Prof. Julie DeBacker, Prof. Aline Verstraeten, Prof. Bura-Riviere, Prof. Antonio Micari)
