ESC Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease

Dear Friends,

Exciting news: during ESC 2020 the new ESC guidelines on Adult Congenital Heart Disease will be presented. Mark your calendar, because on Tuesday Sept 1 from 15.30-16.30 there is a special dedicated session. The Taskforce creating the new guidelines was chaired by Professor Helmut Baumgartner from Munster (Germany) and Professor Julie de Backer from Gent (Belgium) and both chairpersons and the other members of the Taskforce must be congratulated with the fantastic work.

In September 2021 the Advanced Symposium on Congenital Heart Disease in the Adult - Monday 21st - Tuesday 22nd Sept 2020, organised by Prof Michael Gatzoulis, will take place and this will be a virtual event.

Please also add to your calendar the dates for EuroGUCH: May 4 and 5, 2021. The congress will take place in the beautiful city of Seville, Spain with local host Pastora Gallego. I hope to see you all there and please already start preparing your abstracts.

In 2 weeks’ time I will hand over the chair position of our Working Group to Professor Gerhard Diller and I will do this with great faith. For me it was a great honour and pleasure to be chair for 2 years and I would like to thank you all for your fantastic support.

Best wishes,

Jolien Roos-Hesselink (Rotterdam, the Netherlands)
